By all ‘Appearances,’ Provincetown arts & nature fest on track for April

PROVINCETOWN — A 10-day eclectic arts event called “Appearances,” sponsored by the Provincetown Conservation Trust, is being launched by two new members of the trust.

The event is being branded as a green arts festival and is set to take place April 15-24, a stretch that includes Earth Day. The festival is the vision of new PCT trustees Dorothy Palanza and Tina Trudel, who are hoping it will raise awareness of the fragile, beautiful environment of the Outer Cape. And they are hoping for this to become an annual event.

“Provincetown is such an established artist colony that it made sense to combine the environment and arts,” said Palanza. “I gave it the name ‘Appearances’ because spring is the time when everything starts to reappear. Plants, animals and marine life.”

The two women approached different organizations, businesses and galleries throughout town to seek help in collaborating on this venture.

“This is a small town and people embraced this project right away,” said Palanza.
